CBT WITH JESS BAXTER
Evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy for anxiety, depression, stress and difficult periods in life. A chance to talk things through and find practical ways forward.
WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE?
You don’t need a name for what you’re feeling. These might be some of the things you’d like to talk about.
You can ask Jess whether CBT would be suitable for what you’re experiencing.
Worry may be taking up more of your day than you’d like, or making familiar situations feel difficult.
You might feel low, lose interest in things you usually enjoy or find everyday tasks harder than usual.
When demands keep building, it can be hard to switch off or find time to understand what you need.
Self-doubt or a harsh inner voice may be affecting your choices.
A change in your health, relationships or circumstances can leave you feeling unsettled, even when you expected it.
MEET JESS
I’m a CBT therapist with over eight years of experience as a registered nurse in the NHS.
I’ve worked across acute care, rehabilitation, older adult care and outpatient settings. I’ve supported people through difficult periods, recovery, long-term health conditions and major life changes.
These experiences have shaped how I work. They’ve taught me the importance of listening carefully, working collaboratively and offering care that feels both safe and practical.
I completed my postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy at Queen Margaret University. There, I trained in structured, evidence-based approaches to help people understand their difficulties and make meaningful, lasting changes.
My style blends the clarity and structure of CBT with the warmth and humanity of my nursing background. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, supported and empowered to explore what’s been holding you back.

UNDERSTANDING CBT
Cognitive behavioural therapy explores how your thoughts, feelings and behaviour affect one another.
The way you interpret a situation can affect how you feel and what you do. CBT helps you notice these thoughts and consider other ways of looking at them.
Feelings can affect your thoughts and actions too. CBT gives you a way to explore these connections in situations you find difficult.
What you do can influence how you think and feel. CBT can help you try different responses and notice what changes.
We’ll look at situations you find difficult, notice patterns and explore practical ways of responding differently. You may also try things out between sessions and talk through what you’ve learnt.
The aim is to develop useful skills you can keep using after therapy finishes.
